Classes For Youth & Teens

DRAWING AND PAINTING FUNDAMENTALS
Ages 9-13 - All Levels Of Study
Ages 14 - 18 - All Levels Of Study
Children 9 to 18 share classroom space, but gather in age appropriate groups. (Home School schedule available.)

Individual Youth classes not offered at this time. Youth can join the adult intensive class if their schedule permits.

Students progress through pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, and oil painting techniques through individual exercises. Students learn to see through a classical foundation of drawing. As each progresses, he or she learns to compose shapes, mix colors, and color spot, which is a compositional layout of shapes in color. As a student is able to see shapes well and apply the skills of picturemaking through the different mediums, he or she advances to creative imaginative projects. Each child is taught individually and advances at his or her own pace.
