Welcome to the art atelier

At the art atelier, we honor the Great Masters who have preceded us. They have inspired us to trust the wisdom within us and pursue the language of picturemaking.

Classically trained and internationally recognized artists, Jim Ostlund and Michele Mitchell Ostlund offer a program that enables each student to master basic skills in pencil, pen and ink, watercolor and oil. In the classroom effort is always emphasized over talent.

Balancing technical achievement with creative expression allows each individual to surpass artistic goals and gain new levels of understanding and satisfaction through learning to see Shape, Line, Value, Color and Composition. These are the foundation of all the visual arts.
